Louise Brooks: An Original Fashion Icon
Louise Brooks (real name Mary Louise Brooks) was born Novemeber 14, 1906 (she used the shorter version as her stage name). She was an American model, dancer, show girl & silent film actress and she is known for making the bobbed hair cut popular. Her three most memorable silent films are Pandora's Box (1929), Dairy Of a Lost Girl (1929), Prix de Beaute (Miss Europe)(1930). Louise Brooks also made 17 silent films along with writing a book in her later years titled Lulu In Hollywood.
Louise had a style that others are still emulating today 83 years later! She certainly made fashion timeless with her ultra chic bobbed hair cut, flapper dresses, turbans, men's suits, strings of pearls & wool hats.
